Sustainability is one of the core concepts of LA RELAXED. To us, this means using high-quality, earth friendly materials, but it goes further than that. We create clothes that are well constructed, versatile, and flatter a range of figures. This means our pieces will last, but look (and most importantly FEEL) good, season after season. This ties into both the idea of slow fashion and capsule dressing.
One of the biggest inspirations for our Autumn/Winter palette is our greatest muse, nature. We’re leaning into the moody, neutral hues of seaside rocks at low tide, wet driftwood, and the ocean waters at dusk.
One of our favorite recipes comes from the Kitchen Garden cookbook. The Roasted Beets with Toasted Pecans and Greens is a perfect blend of full, earthy flavors, crisp textures, and juiciness from the beets.
Fall in Los Angeles is less of a full-fledged season, and more of a long, slow transition into an eventual mild winter.
Buying and using deadstock fabric is still a great option for smaller clothing brands and designers that don’t need to reproduce a style or make large quantities, but it is certainly not the most sustainable option that exists. Learn more about sustainable fabrics.
