National Relaxation Day

August 15th marks the most relaxing day of the year- National Relaxation Day! It’s the perfect excuse to take a step back, breathe, and focus on ourselves. Our day to day lives can get hectic, so it’s important to take a moment to unwind.
We’ve created a list of a few ways to take it easy, so all you have to do is kick back and relax!
  1. Meditation- There are so many benefits to meditating and focusing on your breathing throughout your day. Mediation is a huge stress reliever and can be very effective in helping maintain proper emotional health. It can be as simple as refocusing on your breath and taking a few deep inhales and exhales. For deeper mediation, there are plenty of online audio videos that can guide you to finding inner peace.

  1. Yoga- Not only is yoga great for your body, it is also beneficial for your mind. You can build strength in your muscles from the different poses and inversions as well as find balance within yourself. When focusing on your breathing and clearing your mind, you’re able to create a harmonious flow between both mind and body. For those that are already avid yogis nothing quite beats a soothing Shavasana at the end of each practice.

  1. Read a good book- In a world consumed by technology, there is something very novel about picking up an enticing book. Delve into the story line and let your imagination run! Reading is also a fantastic way to have a sounder sleep at night.



  1. Take a 30-minute walk- After sitting at a desk at work all day, a quick walk is an ideal way to get some fresh air and some low impact exercise. The best part? Walking is done at your own pace and you can take as many stops as you’d like. You can clear your mind while getting some cardiovascular exercise.

  1. Watch the sunset- Find the perfect time and place to view the sun setting near you and take in the beauty of the bright orange and red hues. It’s a calming way to end your day!


  1. Sip a cup of tea with a movie- Boil a pot of water and select the aromatic tea of your choice, before cozying up with your favorite movie! Put on some comfortable sweats like our Linden Joggers, snuggle with a super soft blanket, and enjoy the film!
