The Neighborhood Guide: ALTADENA
Home to towering Deodar cedars, dreamy craftsman bungalows,
and under-the-radar eateries, Altadena is a quiet gem perched
in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains.
-
With sweeping views of L.A, a mountain(ish) climate, and an
equestrian tradition (you might see a horse trotting
up Lincoln Blvd), Altadena is a unique and charming
neighborhood that balances history with a burgeoning
creative and food scene.
-
Our designer, Claire, highlights a
few favorite neighborhood gems.
The best in town. Birria, asada, and all the usuals
plus an array of veg options (the baja-style
crispy brussel sprouts taco is a must).
-
Authentically Italian thin crust, inventive toppings,
and fresh locally sourced ingredients
(with a side of mountain flair).
Curated menu of high quality drip, espresso
classics and the delectable Chai Chata
(chai + horchata over ice).
-
A seasonal tradition for area locals; a mile
of Christmas trees maintained and lit yearly by
volunteers. It's only lit through the Holidays but
worth bookmarking for next year.
