UNDER 100 FOOTSTEPS
From our design studio, to the production line, it it takes under 100 (foot)steps to complete a garment. We make and finish each garment in our own proprietary factory here in Los Angeles.
LIMITED RUNS
We believe in sufficient, not excess, so we built our business on a limited run model. We don’t over produce and we don’t ever send a garment to landfill.
NATURAL FIBERS
We source third-party certified plant based fibers, like Organic Cotton and TENCEL™ fibers, that are as safe for the producers as they are for your skin.
LOCAL SOURCING
We are LA, as we care about all things local. By forming partnerships with local mills, we are able to shrink most of our sourcing to within a 10-mile radius.
DEADSTOCK
Our close relationships with LA-based fabric mills also allow us to source excess yardage bound for the the landfill. We take time to design and make something beautiful and lasting.
PEOPLE FIRST
The absolute beating heart of the company is the communityof people who design, create, and make LA RELAXED. That is why we refuse to pay anything less than a living wage as we cultivate a respectful and collaborative atmosphere.
OUR MATERIALS
ORGANIC COTTON
Organic Cotton is grown with GMO-free seeds
and without the use of pesticides. The crops are
often watered with rainwater harvested to
offset water consumption. Organic growing practices are safer and healthier for growers, local watersheds, and your skin.
We only source third-party Certified Organic yarns grown in India from our mill partners. They are spun into fabric locally in Los Angeles. Harsh bleach and chemicals are not used in the finishing process.
REGENERATIVE COTTON
Our climate beneficial Regenerative Cotton is grown in California's Central Valley using methods that focus on soil health, drought resistance, erosion pervention, and carbon drawdown while also protecting native wildlife biodiversity.
Over 200,000 acres have been converted to regenerative farming practices. We work woth our local mill partners to spin the yarn into fabrics creating a truly Farm-to-Body experience.
LINEN
Linen is derived from the flax plant, a hardy crop that can grown with minimal water and without fertilizer or pesticides. Flax thrives even in nutrient poor soil where other crops can't be grown and actually helps rehabilitie the depleted soil.
Linen is quite durable yet it softens into a beautiful handfeel with each wash and wear. We adore it'a high-frequency and grounding properties. Our linen is sourced locally from third-party verified suppliers.
FABRIC DYES
Our fabric and garments are dyed at local dye houses that use lower impact AZO-free dyes and
protect our local watersheds by resusing water and disposing of dyestuffs responsibly.
We are working toward even more responsible options and practices with our dye partners.
PLASTIC FREE
We've committed to using zero plastic in our shipping and packing materials. We ship all orders in compostable glassine or seaweed based bags and recyclable undyed kraft mailers and boxes.
Even our tags and postcards are made from recycled paper and are free from plastic.
